Cookie Policy

Last updated: 26 April 2026

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We use cookies and similar browser storage technologies to operate OpalEdge securely and remember your preferences.

2. Cookies We Use

Strictly Necessary

These cookies are essential for the Service to function and cannot be disabled. Without them you cannot log in to OpalEdge.

  • next-auth.session-token — stores your authenticated session (expires on log out or after 30 days of inactivity)
  • next-auth.csrf-token — protects against cross-site request forgery attacks
  • next-auth.callback-url — remembers where to redirect you after login

Functional (Local Storage)

These items are stored locally in your browser only. They are never transmitted to our servers and are used solely to improve your experience within the app.

  • ask-edge-messages — preserves your in-progress AskEdge conversation so it is not lost on page refresh
  • ask-edge-mode — remembers your last selected AskEdge mode (e.g. Chat, Pricing Review)
  • qb-* — stores your in-progress quote builder session locally so work is not lost if you navigate away

Analytics

We do not currently use third-party analytics cookies. If we introduce privacy-respecting analytics in future (e.g. Plausible Analytics, which does not use cookies or track individuals), this policy will be updated and you will be notified.

3. Managing Cookies

You can control or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Please note that disabling strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from logging in to OpalEdge. Local storage items can be cleared through your browser’s developer tools or by clearing site data.

4. Third-Party Cookies

Our payment processor Stripe may set cookies during the checkout and billing portal flow. These are governed by Stripe’s Privacy Policy.

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with a revised “last updated” date.

6. Contact

For questions about cookies or how we use browser storage, contact us at matt@opalbusiness.co.uk.
