Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account and using OpalEdge (“the Service”), operated by Opal Business Solutions (“we”, “us”, “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

OpalEdge is an AI-powered job management and quoting platform for UK trade businesses. Features include AI quote generation, job management, supplier invoice tracking, final invoicing, materials variance reporting, a customer database, analytics, and AskEdge — an AI business advisor. Feature availability varies by subscription plan.

3. Account Registration

You must provide accurate information when registering. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 18 years old and authorised to act on behalf of your business. Email verification is required to activate your account.

4. Free Trial

New subscribers receive a 14-day free trial on all paid plans. No payment is taken until the trial period ends. You may cancel at any time during the trial and will not be charged. At the end of the trial, your subscription will automatically begin and payment will be collected via Stripe.

5. Subscription and Billing

OpalEdge is offered on a subscription basis (Starter, Pro, Premium). Payments are processed by Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically on a monthly or annual basis unless cancelled. Annual plans are billed upfront. We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee for new paid subscribers (excluding trial extensions).

Usage limits apply to AI-powered features and reset on the 1st of each calendar month. Limits vary by plan and are detailed on the Plan & Billing page within your account.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including attempting to reverse-engineer the platform, submit fraudulent or misleading data, circumvent usage limits, or use the Service in a manner that violates applicable law or regulation.

7. AI Disclaimer

OpalEdge uses artificial intelligence — including OpenAI and Anthropic models — to generate quotes, reports, business advice, and other outputs. AI-generated content is for guidance only and does not constitute professional financial, legal, or business advice. You are responsible for verifying all outputs before acting on them. Opal Business Solutions accepts no liability for decisions made based on AI-generated content.

The AskEdge web search feature (available on Pro and Premium plans) may retrieve information from third-party websites. We do not control or guarantee the accuracy of externally sourced content.

8. Data and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. We store your business data securely. Your data is processed by trusted third-party providers including Supabase, Vercel, Stripe, OpenAI, Anthropic, and Resend, solely for the purpose of delivering the Service.

9. Uploaded Documents

Premium plan subscribers may upload documents (e.g. supplier agreements, certifications) for use by AskEdge. You retain ownership of all uploaded content. By uploading documents, you confirm you have the right to share them and grant us a limited licence to process them for the purpose of providing the Service. We do not use your uploaded content to train AI models.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Opal Business Solutions shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to losses arising from AI-generated pricing, advice, or reports.

11. Termination

You may cancel your subscription at any time via Settings → Plan & Billing. Access continues until the end of your current billing period. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you by email of material changes. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
